Our Instructors
Miss Vicky Vitalo Piane trained under Dottie Bounds for 11 years from the age of 8 in all forms and levels of dance which include: ballet, pointe, tap dancing, jazz dance and lyrical. She was a ballroom instructor at Fred Astaire’s for 4 years.
She is a member of Dance Educators of America, International Teachers of Dance Inc., and Professional Dance Teachers Association and has trained under many of the top dance organizations’ most well known and respected instructors. In her early years she was a student with Sue Stroman, the award winning choreographer of the Broadway hit show the Producers and winner of 5 Tony Awards.
Miss Vicky added hip-hop and baton when she opened her studio in 1981 and has one of the most successful dance schools in the state of Delaware.
Miss Anne Mejia has been a main teacher at the studio over 20 years and has trained under many of the top dance organizations’ most well known and respected instructors. She has won multiple major dance awards at Dance Educators of America, International Teachers of Dance Inc., and I Love Dance competitions.
In her 25-plus years of dance education she has also trained at the Wilmington Ballet Company, Goucher College Summer Dance Program and the Koresh School of Dance. She has many years of teaching and experience in all forms of dance instruction, performance and choreography as well as a degree in early child education.
Miss Jenn Buckalew has over 25 years of twirling experience and has been teaching baton for 14 of those years at our school. Our twirlers perform in many area parades every year along with the dance corps and have won multiple awards for excellence and performance. Our twirlers learn the basics up to twirling double batons, swords, lighted and even fire batons in the advanced levels.
Many of our twirlers have gone on to become feature twirlers at multiple area high schools and have made the Golden Girl Twirling Corps at the University of Delaware.
